Bubble Set

This one is great for when we can run out the door to play outside for only a short time or if we will be outside and want something on hand in case the kids get board.  Ok I will admit I let them play with it in the kitchen when their is NO food out and I plan on moping.  They have fun and my floor gets a little extra soap.

Stamps and Wrapping Paper Scraps

Here's a great way to use up the small scraps of wrapping paper left over.  After all one side is blank right?  You can do this with any scrap paper wrapping paper just so happens to be what I have on hand.  The stamps where from some party goody bag from parties this summer.  If you put these together for a busy bag swap buy them in bulk from orientaltrading.com.

How to  use

:: This one is easy just let them stamp away

:: Draw a shape on the paper and have them stamp along the line
     to make the shape.

:: Give them a pen and let them make a sketch scene to go along with the stamps.

This Weeks Preschool Lesson Plans - Turkey Week

It's turkey week.  I really love teamed weeks with holidays.  Here is our lesson plans for the week.

About our family:  We have a 15 month old and a 4 year old so lessons work with a verity of ages I just pick and chose the bits and peaces I want to use for each kid.

Just save to your computer and print.  Please link to this page to share.

Turkey Themed Snacks

:: Turkey veggie platter.  Super easy to toss together and a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies.  The more you show them fun ways to eat them the more they will want to eat them.  (Yes when you are a the grocery store and you here a little girl screech "Can I have broccoli?" shes mine lol.)  This plate will feed both kids and myself for a snack or we can pair with turkey sandwiches for lunch.  Not sure which we will chose to do today.

What are your lesson plans for this holiday week?

Monday:

:: We worked on writing the letter T.  Here is our set up for lessons.  For 4 year old kids writing on a writing tablet.  T is an easy letter to learn as it is just two straight lines.  For younger kids the doodle pad with the letters on it to start is a great way to teach the letter T.  For my one year old I told him the letter then let him go at it.  For a two or three year old working on lines is a great pre-writing exercise.

:: The day was nice so we went out back where we often see wild turkeys in the summer but had no luck so we sat and talked about how the turkeys live out their in the woods.  Hoping we will have some luck this week though I understand why they are hiding. ;)

::  I read our read-a-loud about the Oregon trail wile the kids played with blocks on the floor in front of me.  This is how I teach our young kids history.

Tuesday:

:: We had an early start and Have already done our turkey hand prints and counting practice.  I love when we get of to a nice early start.

:: Today we will be doing the Tom the Turkey sight words book.  Adding two new cards to our sight words deck. Sorting T and t.  We will be using the sorting peaces from that for a Turkey hunt in the house or out side depending on the weather.  (Think Easter egg hunt)  The coloring sheet is used to keep my youngest busy wile my oldest dose the more grown up projects.

Lids

Here is a totally free busy bag to keep your kids busy and help them work their emanation.  For the next week or so every time a container becomes empty wash the lid and put it into a plastic bag or spare container and your good to go.

How they can use this bag

:: Sort by size

:: Pretend tea set

:: Use their imagionation

Clothes Pin Tub

Here's an easy one.  Now its getting to cold to line dry laundry I have been putting my cloths pins to work keeping the kids busy.

What you need

:: Container (mine came with our lunch meat)

:: Clothes pins of different colors sizes materials what ever you have.

:: (Optional) I have one set with a few old flash cards and a short piece of rope for DD to practice pinning
   things to a line.  Even though she has a wile before she can reach.

How to use this set

:: Let your little one sort or make patterns from the pins I you have a nice collection

:: Let them pin them to the container or objects in the container.

Clip Cards

This project teaches counting skills and dose not even need a bag if you store it in a container. (I keep bunch of our busy bags and fun stuff in a basket on the kitchen counter and the rest in a box in the coat closet)  I got these from my daughters preschool back.  You can find these free at 2 Teaching Mommies in their school supply preschool pack.  These we saved from when we did this unit the week of school supply shopping.
